Just a bit of what we’ve been up to…

Hello Mason Patriots!

Earlier this month, Student Government held their annual What Do YOU Want Wednesday event in North Plaza. For the event, SG teamed up with Campus Police to gather information and answer questions about students’ views of the Campus Police. Lieutenant Ly, a member of the Campus Police unit, attended the entire event and answered students’ questions. Students also had the opportunity to fill out polls to express their opinion of the Mason Police Department. Overall, the majority of the reviews were quite positive! If you want to see more, click on the WDYWW Link on the page, and follow it to March’s report! And mark your calendars for the next What Do YOU Want Wednesday, which will take place on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 11:30am-3:00pm in North Plaza. The event will feature members from the Sustainability Office. Please come out to voice your opinions and learn more about Mason at our next WDYWW!

This past weekend, Student Government teamed up with the Indian Student Association for its 2nd Annual “Holi Moli” event in Finley Lot. The event took place Saturday, March 22nd, 2014, with nearly 800 students in attendance! Participants threw colored powder at each other to celebrate the Indian festival. It was incredible watching the entire Mason Community come together and celebrate the diversity we are known so well for!

On March 26th (this Wednesday!), SG is holding its 6th Annual Academic Advising Expo! You will have an opportunity to meet your advisors and get questions answered about classes at Mason. You can also enter to win prizes including an Annual General Lot Parking Pass! The event will take place in the JC Dewberry Hall from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We hope to see you there! Come and BE ADVISED!

Keep a look out for “flash lectures” sponsored by the Governmental & Academic Affairs Department. (Hint: We will be having one at the end of this month and two at the beginning of next month!) Please stay tuned to @MasonStudentGov on Twitter for more information.

And last, but not least, this week’s Student Senate meeting! The meeting will take place on March 27, 2014, at its normal time of 4:30pm. BUT we will be meeting in a different location this week! The Senate meeting will be held in Research Hall Room 163! Please take note of the location. We hope you join us!
