• Virginia 21 Lobby Day – February 2nd
On Wednesday, Student Body President Khushboo Bhatia, Senator Ben Olsen, and Undersecretary and Virginia 21 Liaison Caroline Whitlock went to Richmond, VA for the Virginia 21 Lobby Day to advocate for more financial aid and other issues important to students.
• Green Game 2016 – Saturday, February 6th
Mason is participating in Recyclemania’s nation-wide Game Day Challenge! At this basketball game, The Office of Sustainability will need as many volunteers as possible to help divert waste through promoting recycling and composting. • Homecoming Week 2016 | Homecoming Hustle – February 8th
Get pumped for Homecoming Week 2016! Kicking off the week next Monday is the Homecoming Hustle. Head to Dewberry Hall at 7 pm to receive your free Homecoming 2016 t-shirt and enjoy a “candy bar,” live performances, and the Mason Majesty showcase of the top 10 candidates. • Assistant Vice President Candidate Presentations – February 10th and February 12th
Public presentations for candidates for the new Assistant Vice President of University Life are coming up next week. Mr. Tim Miller, Associate Dean of Students of George Washington University will be presenting on Wednesday, February 10th from 2:30-3:45 in SUB I, room 3B. Dr. Kahan Sablo, Vice President for Student Affairs and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania will be presenting on Friday, February 12th from 2:00-3:15 p.m. in Sub I, 3B. Presentations are open to the public, so be sure to check them out!
• University Pop-Up Pantry Donations
The Pop-Up Pantry is in need of food items and other supplies this season, including: gummy snacks, oatmeal, cereal, school supplies (binders, folders, pencils, index cards, paper, notebooks, etc.), non-perishable drinks (water, Gatorade, milk etc.), beans (black, kidney, pinto, lima, etc.), canned meat (tuna, chicken, fish, etc.), and snack foods (chips, popcorn, etc.). If you are able to donate any of these items, please visit the food pantry in Sub 1, Room 4207 during regular business hours.
