Student Government Executive Cabinet

Department of Government and Academic Affairs

Secretary of Government and Academic Affairs
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, a Secretary of Government and Academic Affairs of the Student Government to be the head of the Department of Government and Academic Affairs. The Secretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.

Undersecretary of Government and Academic Affairs for Legislative Affairs
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Government and Academic Affairs for Legislative Affairs of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Legislative Affairs. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of Government and Academic Affairs. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of legislation that supports the interests of the University and the George Mason Student Body. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for working with Virginia21 and the Delegation for Higher Education to promote student interests and legislative agendas beneficial to the Student Body.

Undersecretary of Government and Academic Affairs for Academic Affairs
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Government and Academic Affairs for Academic Affairs of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Academic Affairs. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of Government and Academic Affairs. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of academic support for the student population of George Mason University. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for providing student information regarding academic procedure (appeals, et al.) and for the promotion of academic processes beneficial to the Student Body.

Department of University Life

Secretary of University Life
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, a Secretary of University Life of the Student Government to be the head of the Department of University Life. The Secretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.

Undersecretary of University Life for Athletics
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Life for Athletics of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Athletics. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Life. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of University Athletics.

Undersecretary of University Life for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Life for Diversity and Multicultural affairs of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Diversity and Multicultural affairs. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Life. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of diversity, multicultural interests and activities.

Undersecretary of University Life for Greek Affairs
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Life for Greek affairs of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Greek affairs. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Life. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the Four Greek Councils, those being Pan-Hellenic Council, Inter Fraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Multicultural Greek Council, as well as act as a liaison between the Greek System and Student Government.

Undersecretary of University Life for Campus Health
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Life for Campus Health, hereinafter to be referred to as the Director of the Campus Health Initiative, of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of the Campus Health Initiative. The Director shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Life. The Director (Undersecretary) shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of individual and environmental health throughout the campus.

Undersecretary of University Life for Student Organizations
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Life for Student Organizations of the Student Government to be the head of the Office if Student Organization Affairs. The Undersecretary shall hold the office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Life. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Student Organizations under all seven Student Organization Umbrellas, as well as act as a liaison between Student Organizations and Student Government.

Department of Outreach and External Relations

Secretary of Outreach and External Relations
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, a Secretary of Outreach and External Relations of the Student Government to be the head of the Department of Outreach and External Relations. The Secretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.

Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Information Technology
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Information Technology of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Information Technology. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary Outreach and External Relations. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the development of the Student Government website, serving as a liaison between the students and the university technical community, working with various other entities to disseminate information to the student body, and serving as a technical resource to other areas of Student Government as needed.

Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Media Relations
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Media Relations of the Student Government, hereinafter to be known as the Press Secretary, to be the head of the Department of Outreach and External Relations. The Press Secretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified, and shall be responsible for all external communication made on behalf of the Student Government as a whole, save in emergency situations.

Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Advertising
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Outreach and External Relations for Advertising of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Advertising. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of Outreach and External Relations. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to working with all Cabinet chairs and student government officials to create and organize advertisements and advertisement strategies for student government, including print, radio, and television advertisements.

Department of University Services

Secretary of University Services
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, a Secretary of University Services of the Student Government to be the head of the Department of University Services. The Secretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.

Undersecretary of Student Services for Housing Services
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Student Services for Housing Services of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Housing Services. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of Student Services. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of student interests regarding Housing Services, and voicing and working to resolve the concerns of the Student Body with respect to housing services.

Undersecretary of Student Services for Dining Services
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of Student Services for Dining Services of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Dining Services. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of Student Services. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the promotion of student interests regarding Dining Services, and voicing and working to resolve the concerns of the Student Body with respect to dining services.

Undersecretary of University Services for Parking and Transportation
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Services for Parking and Transportation of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Parking and Transportation. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Services. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to the parking services provided for all parts of campus and all issues relating to student transportation. It is expected that this secretary be in attendance for all meetings of the University Administration addressing any part or parcel of these issues.

Undersecretary of University Services for Sustainability
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of University Services for Sustainability of the Student Government to be the head of the Office of Sustainability. The Undersecretary shall hold office at the pleasure of the Secretary of University Services. The Undersecretary shall be responsible for discharging all duties pertaining to improving campus sustainability.

Department of the Treasury

Secretary of the Treasury
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, a Secretary of the Treasury, hereinafter to be known as the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.

Undersecretary of the Treasury
The Student Body President shall appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Student Senate, an Undersecretary of the Treasury, hereinafter to be known as the Vice-Treasurer. The Vice-Treasurer shall hold office at the pleasure of the Student Body President for a term coincident with that of the Student Body President making the appointment, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.
