My name is Drew Shelnutt, and I will be serving as the Student Body President for the 2007-2008 school year. This year’s Student Government will pursue a higher purpose than we have in the past. Our Student Government will be a tireless advocate for the needs of students, and provide a place where all students can come and be heard. We have a number of committees and Cabinet-level Secretary positions left open specifically to enable Freshman students to get involved in the process of student advocacy, and we would like every student to stop by the Student Government Office at least once to tell us what’s going well, what’s not going well, and what they think of any aspect of life at Mason. This is the year of open and engaged government, and I look forward to working for all of you this year.
